Hi All,

We have been made aware that unfortunately some of you have received spamming private messages within the last 3 hours.

We have escalated this to our Platform provider & Security team to investigate and take action as a priority.

In the meantime, we have been removing this content on an 'one by one' basis for now.

If you do receive a spam private message, please do not respond to & do not click on any included links.

As a temporary step, we have turned off Private Messaging until we have fully resolved this issue. We will keep you updated on any progress.

Hi all, to circle back to this issue and 'close the loop':

On the 31st August we identified that multiple accounts were sending spam messages via our private messaging function. Once identified, we temporarily disabled private messaging (to contain the issue & as a security measure). Through further analysis we were able to identify the offending accounts. We removed these accounts immediately for violation of Community guidelines. We have since re-instated the private messaging functionality & put in place further restrictions to prevent such potential abuse.

We take the security of our Community members and the Community platform very seriously, hence we took this prudent approach in order to ensure 1) the issue was addressed & resolved and 2) to ensure there was no security risks.
