we have AD auth set up for our network switches. LS is scanning them with a read only AD account , and getting this error - %% Unrecognized command: "cat /etc/*release"

It seems the account has access as we get port info and info on what is attached to the port. but no serial # and all the other good stuff LS collects. this account works fine to SSH into them too.

one switch (now decommissioned) actually got the full read from LS, but I cannot find anything different about it or it's config that allowed the full scanning.

any ideas?

Hi,

To get most of the details of switches, Lansweeper scans them with SNMP. It could be possible to connect to them with SSH, but it will provide fewer details. You can find a full description on how to scan the devices with SNMP in the article below:
