Engaged Sweeper II

With the new combined IT/OT sensor there does not seem to be a way to delete assets from the sensor/hub?  There used to be a way with the older version.  I have situations where I export from the non-linked sensors, so the need to delete is critical.  Any suggestions?

Thank you for the response Filip!

I attached a diagram of what I have been doing for our air-gapped customers (OT).  This worked with the 3.x sensors, but I have been trying to figure out how to do this since the new 4.x sensors have been released.  Any suggestions would be welcome on how to support our customers in this situation would be appreciated.

Hi @mem16421,

So it seems that you only want to do a single scan in an air-gapped OT network. Then you can do the following steps on the system from the air gapped network:

  • Export your scan targets if you want to use them later
  • Stop the Lansweeper Network Discovery Hub service
  • In the installation directory of Lansweeper Network Discovery Hub, remove the following files: hub.db, hub.db-wal (if existent), hub.db-shm (if existent)
  • Restart the Lansweeper Network Discovery Hub service. A new database will be created automatically, so you can start scanning in another network

Hi @mem16421

Indeed from V4 onwards, assets can no longer be deleted. Since we have switched from assets to discovery results in the on-prem Network Discovery UI. This means also that we will no longer create assets in the Network Discovery Hub, but we create assets from the discovery results in Lansweeper Sites or in the On-premises IT software. This means that you can delete and edit your assets in these environments.

Thanks,

Filip
