This post shows a troubleshooting diagram to troubleshoot the RPC unavailable scanning error. 

A few considerations for following the diagram:

  • Rescan asset is done by navigating to the assets summary page and hitting the Rescan now button in the top left corner.
  • The connection test tool, testconnection.exe, is found on your scanning server in Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Actions

In our experience lansweeper can also give an RPC unavailable error if the local admin account's password has expired.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. RPC errors can indeed also occur when the local admin account's password has expired or when the account is disabled. We've updated the workflow to accommodate these changes. Once again, thank you for your feedback. This will surely also help other users that encounter this issue.

you can click the image and a .png opens, in the bottom right corner, you can then choose to download the image.
