Hi,

I have around 80 computers and all have Static IPs in the range of 192.168.1.0 We do not have a DNS server but have a domain controller for authentication. Almost 50% of these computers do not resolve the IPs properly.

When I test connection to a machine this is the result for a machine with static IP of 192.168.1.58 which resolves to some public IP

DNS test
-----------------------------------------------
Is this the correct remote IP: 68.178.232.99
If not, please check for DNS problems

\root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED
Call was canceled by the message filter. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED))

Remote WMI test
-----------------------------------------------
\root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED
Call was canceled by the message filter. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED))

Remote Registry test using WMI
-----------------------------------------------
\root\default Remote WMI access test FAILED
Call was canceled by the message filter. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED))

Kindly advise what can I do to fix it.

Active directory does not work without dns.
You must have a dns server somewhere.

Is this an active directory domain?
