This page explains how to automatically and manually delete assets.

This page is for Lansweeper Sites. For Lansweeper Classic, see Delete assets.

If you have assets that have been decommissioned and are no longer part of your network, you can delete them from your Lansweeper inventory.

Automatically delete assets

  1. In your Lansweeper Site, go to Configuration > Server options and select your installation.
  2. Navigate to the Asset cleanup section.
  3. Select the following settings to automatically delete specific assets:
Once you select the options below, you can update the number of days based on your preference.
    • Permanently delete assets not seen in the last 180 days.
    • Permanently delete Asset Radar assets if not seen in the last 30 days.
    • Permanently delete Asset Radar assets of the types 'Unknown' and 'Network device' if not seen in the last 30 days.
  4. Select Save changes save.png.

Manually delete assets

To delete an asset:

  1. In your Lansweeper Site, go to Inventory.
  2. Select the asset you want to delete from your list. To locate your asset, you can search or filter for it.
  3. Select the checkbox for the asset.
  4. Select Delete assetdelete.png.
  5. In the pop-up window, select Yes.

Ensure you add the asset to the scan exclusions list, otherwise the asset will reappear when you scan the installation.

Bulk delete assets

You can bulk delete 250 assets at one time.
  1. In your Lansweeper Site, go to Inventory.
  2. Select the asset you want to delete from your list. To locate your assets, you can search or filter for them.

  4. Select Delete assetdelete.png.
  5. In the pop-up window, select Yes.

Ensure you add the asset to the scan exclusions list, otherwise the asset will reappear when you scan the installation.
