Default a Custom Field

When I create a custom field in "Ticket Custom Fields" I cannot set default values. How can I set this? If it's not possible please add this as a feature request. Thanks!

Default custom field values will be added in version 6.1.
Unfortunately we can't give a release date for this version yet.
