Could you please upgrade to the latest version (3.5.1 to see if it solves the problem)

I would first suggest to upgrade to 3.5.1 (download the update package for this, not the installer)
This way you won't loose any data.
If this doesn't solve the problem we can make a special test-build

not sure but I see it more and more often. I'm trying to track the progress of a software upgrade and the reports are inaccurate. can't resally say if I look at other reports so closely before. what is the impact and or procedure to start from scratch ?? do I lose historical data ?? please advise

Just to add to this. I have duplicates for the Unauthoriized admin report with the same user appears more than once as an admin for the same machine

Yes duplicates exists of that PC and others , the scan times are from the same day
