How to manage multiple installations

Historically, a single installation of Lansweeper could be installed only once in a single location.

Current Lansweeper subscription plans now enable users to install an unlimited number of installations, all linked to the same Lansweeper Site licensing limits may apply.

There are two choices when it comes to linking installations:

1 - Multiple installations linked to separate Lansweeper Sites

Different installations can be linked to their own Lansweeper Cloud sites, which is useful when various departments within a corporation must be kept separate. For example, keeping data in specific countries or MSP’s with individual customers.

2 - Multiple installations linked to a single Lansweeper Site

Different installations can be linked to a single Lansweeper Site. We refer to this setup as Data Federation, and it provides a single-pane-of-glass view over multiple installations.

An additional benefit of Data Federation is the ability to use Lansweeper Scopes to ensure that certain users only have access to data from their designated installations, as needed, instead of having unrestricted access to the entire database.

Some examples of this use would be segmented vLAN’s and department-specific installations.
