one thing that we have done through scripts and scheduled tasks is create a scheduling of wake up and shutdown commands.
Due to WSUS and AV scans we have it so staff do not get too disrupted and neither does the network. A scheduling of workstation wake up and shutdown would be something that I would love to see in the console. The ability to mark machines with schedules for working days and weekend.
Obviously the power saving provided by a set shutdown call is helpful when users dont turn their machines off too!
