Does the IT agent still need to have relay keys to find the correct credentials?

The IT Discovery Agent will deliver more asset details once scanning credentials are included in Scanning > Discovery > Discovery Credentials. A relay key is not required for the IT Discovery Agent, as it is connected to your site through the linking code generated during setup.
