A report called Report1 for example, say it lists all servers under warranty, can you then run a sub report off it to show only the Dell servers for example? Any similar report will do, I am really after how can I run a sub report or query the results of that report. I am assuming the reports are essentially Views and I cannot find how to query them if at all possible. My assumption could also be incorrect.

You'll have to wait for wiser heads to chime in. I just copy/pasted the example query into my LANSweeper and it ran without any problems, so I don't know what to suggest. Good luck.

thanks for the quick reply and no worries on how you read the original post. I like the link you sent it runs fine in sql query manager however when I paste the query into LS report builder it hates me.

Invalid SELECT statement. Unexpected token "+" at line 2, pos 39.: Unexpected token "+" at line 2, column 39

Sorry, I took your example at face value. Skill and knowledge levels of posters vary widely, so I try not to read in more than is presented.

I don't know if it's the direction you're trying to go, but had you taken a look at this? Depending on how you have your secondary report (query) configured, it might be useful as a springboard.

it's not about that I was giving an example.

I want to know how to query the report results from another report, IE a sub report. We do this all the time in Crystal and other reporting tools. I am trying to see if this is possible.

Can you not just include the manufacturer on the report and type "Dell" in the filter box at the top of the column? I regularly do that kind of thing with a variety of my reports.
