How does Asset Radar work?
Asset Radar is a feature within Lansweeper that leverages network packet capturing technology to discover device information on your network. It operates by scanning network packets and retrieving asset information from them. When Asset Radar is enabled, it identifies IP addresses within these packets and sends them to the IP scanning queue. This process allows Lansweeper to gather information about devices without requiring direct access credentials.
Asset Radar is particularly useful for quickly capturing information about devices that connect to your network, including BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and rogue devices. It can operate in three modes: Disabled, Logging Only, or Enabled, depending on your specific requirements.
