I was looking at my error log and noticed this.

2/9/2009 9:05:18 AM : Cannot connect to database, check your config file, will try again in 1 minute
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cannot open database "Lansweeper32" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'lssqluser32'.
2/9/2009 9:06:20 AM : Database connection successful, starting up service

2/9/2009 2:05:52 PM : Stopping service

2/9/2009 2:05:54 PM : Database connection successful, starting up service

I was just wondering if it was actually connecting or not. I can open up sql server management studio and loging with the lssqluser32 user.

I am also like a lot of people having the wmi issues. I have tried everything. even the wmidaig.exe tool. it said wmi was working ok but it still shows error on the digital dashboard.

The company I work for would like to get this but since we are having so much trouble with it not working right we don't know.

thanks for your help.

When you run lsclient.exe from your computer do you get a "success" message?

How do I add an attachment. I do not see where to put it.
yes my computer is on a domain. So even though it is all installed on my machine it will still find and pick up active directory?

Could you please show me a screenshot of your complete action screen of your computer.

The premium version will find active directory if your XP machine (where you installed it) is part of a domain.

I ran lsclient on my computer yesterday and it still showed that my last seen date was back in january.

the connection tester says everything is ok.

I do have a question though. If we get the paid version, how will it find our active directory and everything or does the lansweeper database have to be on there? Right now it is not on a server. I am running lansweeper on a Win XP Pro machine with IIS installed and SQLexpress 2008 installed.

I greatly appreciate your help.

When was the last time you ran lsclient?
That should be the date of "last seen"

If you want to change the sql username and password you have to edit the lansweeperservice.exe.config file and the web.config file.

About wmi error: which error does the connection tester give?

ok thanks.

in the digital dashboard it is showing that my computer was last seen on 1-8-2009. shouldnt it be todays date? or does it show then it was first scanned?

I have done everything about the wmi in your knowledgebase and it still does not work.

can you change the username and password for the database. for example if i did not want to use lssqluser32 but wanted to use something different. where do i change it. in the config file?

Your service is working perfectly, this error can happen when your service starts before your sql server.
at 9:05:18 the sql server was probably not yet started so the service tried again one minute later.
At 9:06:20 everything worked fine.

If you have WMI access problems, please see the pages in our knowledgebase.
