In the software inventory on the freeware version of Lansweep, it appears that all instances of SQL Server 2005 are detected as SQLServer 2005 and no discrimination is made between Standard, Enterprise, and Express versions. The SQL 2005 Express version on the Lansweeper server, for example, is detected as "Microsoft SQL Server 2005" where it is the Express version and the Enterprise version on the accounting server is detected as Microsoft SQL Server 2005" - exactly the same?

Is this so, or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Lansweeper reads the same information as presented in the add/remove programs in the control panel.
The vendor (in this case Microsoft) decides which information is published upon installation of the software (sql server)
