I seem to be off to an inauspicious start. Upon downloading the premium version, McAfee antivirus detected 000f449c.exe as the RemAdm-TightVNC virus and immediately deleted the file. I'm running the latest version/engine/dat.

Please try the 3.5.1 beta (download from the forum)
It fixes several active scanning issues.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I have tweaked the antivirus to eliminate that VNC virus alert. Once I used that firewall netsh command, I got positive connection responses. I am now seeing computers in the list, however, I am getting the same RPC server unavailable error as other folks. I saw that there were incorrect A records in DNS which I have now fixed, but still same problem.

You can download the premium tools again from this link http://www.lansweeper.com/premiumtools.aspx

Lsremote is based on VNC and some anti-virus vendors see this as riskware because it does remote control (hence the name of your error (RemAdm-TightVNC)

I would suggest ignoring the VNC in your anti-virus.

You can also try the new lsremote beta : http://www.lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst1610_Premium--Remote-control-20--lsremote-beta.aspx which is based on UltraVNC instead of TightVNC.
