Monitor Asset Tags

I need the ability to associate an asset tag to a monitor serial number. I know that the monitor serial number is already being pulled into the system automatically and associated with a machine. Is there a easy way to do this without adding the monitor as a separate item, which would be essentially adding it twice?

If we understand correctly, you want to add monitor asset tags to the database? This is not currently possible. You can keep track of this information using a computer custom field, but this will associate the data with the computer, not the monitor specifically.

That would work until the monitor is moved away from the system.

Yes, that is correct. As stated, you cannot associate data with monitors specifically. There is currently no way to do this.
