Engaged Sweeper
Hi,

Been testing out the free version of LanSweeper and have a couple of questions:

1. Where does LanSweeper scan for details of installed software. For example, I've upgraded to Flash ver 10 and in Add/Remove Programs, ver 10 is the only one present. But LanSweeper still picks up ver 9 together with ver 10 in the software installed report. Software scan is configured to 0 days (item wait time). Perhaps it's some leftover registry entry from ver 9 that LanSweepr picks up?

2. For about 20-30 minutes in the morning when the bulk of our users log in, the LanSweeperService.exe takes up to 100% CPU. So during this period, lsclient.exe in the logon script takes a bit longer to run, maybe 3-5 seconds instead of under 1 second during off peak periods. I've configured concurrent threads to 5. Is there something I can do about this?

Scheduled scanning is set to every 1 day.

Thanks.

So if I understand correctly:
The software is not shown in add/remove programs.
You did a rescan of the machine and verified that the lastscanned date changed.
The software is still visible in Lansweeper.

Is this correct?

Hello to all, besides revising the time of scanning software must be revising the registry because time must be the same for keys that are removed are updated.

Check the "waittime" of software scan, it' probably set to a couple of days.

So to question 1. Are you doing this for all keys that are showing up as two software. Reason i ask is lansweeper should be able to report the information correctly if set to 0day scan correct? This is a hugh problem if you have to start deleting keys for 500+ computers.

The problem is not really a Lansweeper problem. In this case it's the Adobe installer that "forgot" to remove the information from add/remove programs.

I suggest fixing the autorun issue (see the other post about the autorun issue, you need to fix a registry setting)
Best would be to have multiple cores/processors for the scanning machine.
