Solution

When scanning your assets, Lansweeper automatically determines the asset type based on factors like open ports, protocols, and the information it retrieves during the scan.

Lansweeper is capable of scanning a wide variety of network devices — including printers, cameras, switches, access points, and more.

However, the completeness of the scan depends on having the right ports open, proper permissions, and valid credentials. In most cases, SNMP is the protocol that provides the most comprehensive data for network devices.
