I wish there were more improvements to the on-prem version of Lansweeper. But it feels like it will eventually be phased out or be on life support.

Every day I open Lansweeper to look at an extremely annoying notification that wants to push us to the cloud version of Lansweeper, in which we have no interest at all. It is not even possible to disable this notification ad, which is ridiculous and unprofessional. In addition, all the menus are cluttered with menu points that want to push you to the cloud version (OT Assets, Integrations etc), which again, are not to be disabled.

This forced push to the cloud, plus the recent price increase (up to quadrupling) with no added value for on-prem has us looking for other options, with the only reason to still use Lansweeper being that we haven't found a fitting one yet.

Good news? Good news would be if I could finally disable this notification.

Is Lansweeper on-prem going away completely for a transition to a Sites only product? If so, will all available features be available in Sites? (I.E.: Mass editing/importing assets, full scan details like with radar/LsAgent, software deployment capabilities, etc.)

Hi @rinks - Lansweeper on-prem will not be going away at all. On-prem is a valid option for our user base that cannot connect their IT environments to the cloud, so of course we will continue to support that. Additionally, for many of the capabilities that you mentioned in your post,  those already exist in our LS Sites or will be in the coming in the very near future (stay tuned for our webinar). At Lansweeper, we jump at every opportunity to evolve & improve the capabilities that we offer, so we'll always aim to find the most ideal way to provide the same value as on-prem - if not more, in LS Sites.

Hope that helps - and I think you'll really enjoy some of the items we reveal in November!

I second this. With helpdesk not being migrated to sites and an incredibly high price point to integrate 3rd party helpdesk (from $600 to $4,798 annually). When should classic users expect to start jumping ship? I see a massive push to sites yet majority of users posting are still using classic due to sites missing core functionality.

The following bullet point hints that the time is coming soon.

"Frictionless Migration to Lansweeper Sites: We’ve also made several improvements to data importing and user management to make a transition from Lansweeper on-prem over to Sites as smooth as possible, preserving the value from your existing installation and removing any obstacles."

Thanks @ammayer8 - the journey with LS Sites is an interesting one to talk about. As we focussed in on the new capabilities that we only offer in our cloud offering, we have had some of our on-prem users feel like there is "missing core functionality" - this is something we are addressing, and every launch we are making strides toward closing that gap for our existing on-prem users to adopt LS sites, and also enable them to benefit from the capabilities that only exist in LS Sites. I would love to get you on a call with a member of the team to talk through your specific implementation and when certain items will be available for you to test out. @Julien_P is the right man for the convo on our end!

Hope that helps

And what news about Lansweeper on-prem?

Hi @Mister_Nobody - yes there have been some maintenance improvements to on-prem - but as per above, the majority of our focus for this launch has been toward the advancement of our cloud capabilities. I've noted you've asked this questions a couple of times, would you like to jump on a call for us to help guide you through the current roadmap and get your thoughts about on-prem vs LS Sites? Very happy to do so! @Gilian can we reach out via DM to mister_nobody (mister_somebody!)
