We are trying to figure out how to detect Visual Studio 2017 editions. Lansweeper only detect the software installed as “Visual Studio 2017”. Prior versions are showing the editions but not in 2017 anymore. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Lansweeper pulls information from software installations from the registry keys we have added below, which mimics the Add/Remove Programs in Windows. If the software isn't retrieved in the aforementioned methods, then it will not be given back in Lansweeper. More information on how Lansweeper views and scans software information on Windows computers can be found in this knowledge base article.

Unfortunately, it seems to be that Microsoft no longer gives back the edition for Visual Studio 2017 under Add/Remove programs as seen in this MSDN post.

You might be able to retrieve the information through custom file or registry scanning, more information on these scanning methods can be found below:
