Can anyone advise why in the system scanning log we get the following error
shown for all our workgroups ?

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available

So just to confirm - to get rid of the original error in question is to disable workgroup scanning and use ip scanning instead.

Thanks

I would recommend IP range scanning for the other workgroups.

Thanks for your response. We have 6 different workgroups. Within Microsoft Windows Network I can only see devices that reside on our local lan. All remote networks / workgroups are not visible. Is this a typical feature of Windows XP, in that it wont allow you to view remote lans.
All networks are connected via a wan infrastructure.

For workgroup scanning to work you need to be able to "see" the workgroup in windows explorer.
