Connect to MSDE 2005 via ODBC

Can anyone give me an advice how I can connect to the MSDE 2005 with odbc?
I am using 3.5x premium Version. We need this function to import data into Remedy.

Any hints welcome.

Sorry for late feedback. It turned out to be a firewall issue. lansweeperuser now connects just fine!

Of course, thats the usual way. Unfortunately it does not work with lansweeperdb. That's why I asked.

Do you get any specific error?
I see no reason why it should not work.

Where is exactly the problem?

In general you have to:
- install MSSQL Client (search for file "MSSQL 2005 Client.msi")
- set DSN (which is not obligatory, depending, how do you set a connection)
- check i.e. with excel (try to enter external data source)
- define it with your software using ODBC...
