I would like to create a report that shows a file's version for all the systems contained in the network. I added the file to the scanning engine, and then created the report to display the file version along with the path and user etc.. The issue is that the file version is blank (as well as the file description).

Basically, by right clicking on the file directly and viewing the file properties I can see the version and other information properly. The attribute I want is even called "file version" on that microsoft file properties screen, but again, that number does not populate to "file version" in the lansweeper database. That column's data (among some others) is blank.

Am I doing something wrong or is the engine not populating the table with the correct file data? I have tried this on multiple files, both in-house programs and windows files.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Could you post screenshots of your in- and output please.

At this point WMI can't read file properties (version) of dotnet generated executables although they are visible in windows explorer. (for example: you can't get the fileversion of lansweeperservice.exe)
