OK, took me awhile, but I have started to get my WMI access denied issues resolved. The problem seems to be that some of my machines were not in DNS because they had been renamed/moved, and we use static IPs. I have 3 AD domains. The primary one (where my Lansweeper server resides) I am getting hits on almost every machine, and I am adding the ones into DNS now. The other 2 domains (which are trusted) I get all the servers, but maybe 1 or 2 of the workstations.

If I do a nslookup on the machines, it finds them, but using the connection test, I get the WMI error. Anyone have any ideas?

one that works would be PC1.domain.tld that is in a AD domain called domain
one that doesn't would be PC2.sub.domain.tld that is in a AD domain called sub

If anyone has ideas, that would be great.

Thanks. When we flatten down to 1 domain, it won't be an issue anymore. I ended up using a different domain admin account, not the enterprise domain admin, and it is now scanning those domains.

Thanks for your help!

Make sure that your user has the necessary permissions on the client. (there is also an article in the knowledgebase)

Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) ANDABMG051 (andabmg051.msb.domain.wan) \root\default

This was the same error I was getting for ones in domain.wan before we made sure they were in DNS

nslookup andabmg051.msb.domain.wan
Server: iubitdp038.domain.wan
Address: 192.168.2.38

Name: andabmg051.msb.domain.wan
Address: 192.168.66.51

Which error do you get?
