Identifying Torrent Clients

Hi there,

Has anyone created a report that searches for torrent clients installed on windows machines? I've had a query from the bossman to find a computer that has been downloading torrents. I've had a poke around the software list and can't find any of the usual suspects but from what I can find no one has anything installed. Is there something that I can search for .torrent files?

Anybody else had to do something similar?

Hi, yeah I thought that might have been the only option. I'll talk to the NOC to see if they can look into their logs.

You can create a report but it requires that you know the names of all the torrent clients.

I think inspecting your firewall logs would be a better idea.
