Hopefully this is a simple one:
- Is separate SQL Server back-end supported?

Specifically, we have a SQL 2005 DB setup, as per the installation documentation. Named Pipes, TCP/IP are activated and enabled. Mixed Mode authentication is enabled. And I have restarted all services. It's the default instance (at this time). This is "HOST25".

However from the Web and Service install (on "HOST01"), the install program never connects to the databse. It's only ever pops up the Window about ensuring named pipes and TCP/IP are enabled, and that the SQL Browser Service should be running (Which it is).

Brendan.

Is the first post you are referring to databaseserver : "HOST25"
The failed script states : Connection to sui0ntas25 ... failed

This is probably your problem.

Sadly that's not possible, as it hasn't yet created that folders.

There are two temporary folders under %USERPROFILES%\MyProfile\Local Settings\Temp.

One contains LanSweeperSetup.tmp. Do you want that?

The other temporary file (lswins.log) is as follows:

8/04/2009 9:12:44 AM - ------------ Lansweeper Setup Started ------------
8/04/2009 9:12:44 AM - OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 3790)

Yes, it is supported (it is used by most people), please post the install log found in your %programfiles%\lansweeper folder.
