Can you post the last part of the errorlog.txt file right before the crash please.

Upgraded from 4.X (second last prod version) to the Beta. My Lansweeper Service kept failing. I am running on Windows 2008 server and have a SQL 2008 x64 database on a separate server.

The upgrade went great.

2 issues though.

1) Over the Holidays the Service stopped and I have set the configuration to mark computers as inactive after 14 days. My entire site went inactive. After the upgrade the scanning logs show it is re-activating the PC's but it is not showing in the summary on the main Dashboard. Therfore all my info is on the 630 or so machines that are active..the remaining 5000+ don't show in the reports etc.

2) The lansweeper service constantly crashes. I have set the service recovery to restart but not a good solution.

Going to reboot the server (although was not required after upgrade) and will report back.

P.S. I noticed in the log that it cancelled a scan after 30 minutes. Can that be changed? If It can't scan a machine in 5-10 minutes, move on. 🙂

Thanks

Problem confirmed: the "make active" is not always working, will be in the next update (soon)

Do you have an error in event viewer about the crash (or in the errorlog.txt file)?
Is the scanning server a windows 2008 R2 server?

There is another thread asking to increase the time to 60 minutes.

I've sent you the log files.

I would say I'm quite impressed with the overall of the features added if I didn't know your great job since I started using Lansweeper! Really great work!!

Did the service detect the previous version and asked to upgrade?

2) this is a bug and must be fixed.

Great new features! Until now everything looks stable.

I've installed the webserver part in a virtual machine and copied the files from there to my current IIS server directory.

Just a few thoughts during my upgrade:
1 - the password stored in the file "Lansweeperservice.exe.config" is reset so the service won't start properly until I re-set it manually
2 - I have a Webserver where I have the service, I'm prompted for the IP scan, since I only install the web part, this does not make sense. I was not prompted for this on the Service installation part.
3 - I just want to upgrade the files structure and do not mess with IIS pools or IIs, so this is not ideal for me. Can you add an option "copy web structure to directory" or something similar?
