Engaged Sweeper
Hi everyone.

We are attempting to utilize Lansweeper in our environment and have run into an issue with all of our XP based machines - When attempting to run lsclient on them, they return an error in the Lansweeper console which states: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

I have went through and confirmed that it is not DNS related, as both forward and reverse NSLookup's return the proper results. (we utilize DNS aging/scavenging in our environment as well)

The only way I can bypass this issue, is to completely disable the Windows Firewall. We have roughly 500 PC's in our environment, and we have this enabled as part of our security policy. Disabling the built-in firewall is not really a solution.

My question is, what port does Lansweeper utilize in order to successfully scan a PC? Has anyone had success just opening up this port on an XP machine and successfully running scans?

Any help would be appreciated!

Easiest would be to set up your domain firewall policies and allow "remote administration"
