If all servers have the same local administrator password you can use .\administrator as the parameter, this is the only way it will work.
Domain should be the name of the workgroup.
Domain should be the name of the workgroup.

Well, originally I didn't get an error. I just couldn't input anything. I think I have to use the elipse's in order to input as I can input it now.
But I'm still having trouble getting it to work.
For the domain, do I use the workgroup name or the computer name? If the computer name then thats a lot of extra credentials I have to enter. Reason I ask is new errors in the errorlog.txt file.
Using the workgroup name and a common account with admin privilages OR the computer name I get this error:
12/2/2009 12:56:36 PM: Workgroup The server is not operational.
But, I don't get an error for the ones I created using the computer name as the domain. For example I have several servers in the workgroup called WORKGROUP. Using that "domain" gives the above error. I have a server named CIM which is in the WORKGROUP, workgroup but the error log does not show any error for that credential.
So, I'm thinking I have to enter each server with its own name instead of doing it by workgroup names. Is that correct?

That very clearly fixes the issue for the service starting and staying running. But we were having trouble adding the additional credentials. It wouldn't allow us to add any but the one that was there. I'll try again do a new post on it if I'm still having trouble.
Thanks for your help.

What exactly is the error you get?

I suggest to change back to the old user and use alternate credentials to scan workgroups : http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/workgroup.aspx

It was running fine up to the 17th of November. On the 17th a change of the user running the service was made to facilitate our workgroup servers. The server lansweeper is running on is a AD computer. The account used was created on the server as a local account and it was created in AD as an AD account. In both cases the account was assigned Administrator privilages.
Here are some snippets from the error log.
12/2/2009 12:09:32 PM: Database connection successful, starting up service
12/2/2009 12:09:33 PM: Access is denied

I have the service set to restart after a failure so that is why the errors are cycling over.

Could you please post any errors in your errorlog.txt file.
When did this problem started, how long was it running ok before.
