My license expired today and now I cannot access the Lanseeper Configuration. Should I still be under the asumption that Lansweeper will still function after the license expires, I just will not get future updates? Also the premium tools no longer work.

The freeware functions of lansweeper will still work, the premium functions will be disabled until you renew the license key.
You should be able to access the configuration tool without a problem.
