Did you mean:

Engaged Sweeper
I recently installed Lansweeper and its great software. but I have 5 computers that show up in red. one of them if I plug it in at one location it works, and at the second location it does not. the other 4 get this:

The RPC server is unavailable 0x800706BA

I do NOT have that WMI problem and every time I search for the RPC error everyone keeps leading back to the WMI error. Can someone give me a little help with this? the firewall is turned off on all machines as per group policy and the network obviously allows Lansweeper to work on all the other machines, so its something to do with just these five.

Thanks in advance for your help!

In Services, the REMOTE REGISTRY has to be automatic and turned on!! If not you will get those errors as well. Thanks to a friend of mine who pointed that out to me today, so now I just have ONE red one... instead of five. 🙂

Dory, you are most likely using an old version of lansweeper, remote registry service isn't needed anymore in the last versions.

What do the red computers mean? I'm a new user so forgive the obvious questions.

Thanks!

It means there is an error with Lansweeper scanning the PC. On the top of this web page is a section called Knowledgebase that is the most likely causes of errors.

2 things to try in my personal experence.

1. Are they plugged into a router/switch that may not be configed correctly?
2. Try logging in as another user and see if it scans.
