Engaged Sweeper

Hello Lansweeper Support Team,

We are currently running Lansweeper v. 12.2.0.4 installed locally on-premises and linked to the cloud. We are trying to install the OT module to begin discovering OT devices in our network.

We downloaded the Network Discovery OT installer (v4.1.2) from the Lansweeper console and are now trying to configure it. During the setup, we are asked to specify the "Hub" details. We understand that the "Hub" should be our on-premises Lansweeper installation. Based on the documentation, we configured it to point to our Lansweeper server using the default port 59525.

However, when we proceed with the installation, we receive the following error message:
Hub cannot be reached using the entered details. Verify that the remote hub service is running and it can be reached from this computer with the above host and port details.

We have verified the following:

  • The Lansweeper service is running on the server.
  • The port 59525 is open and not being blocked by the firewall on both the server and the machine where the OT module is being installed.
  • The hostname/IP address of the Lansweeper server has been correctly entered during the OT module setup.

Despite these checks, the error persists, and we are unsure how to proceed. Could you please clarify:

  1. If the Lansweeper on-premises installation (v. 12.2.0.4) acts as the "Hub" for the OT module?
  2. If there are additional configurations or steps required to enable the OT module to communicate with the Lansweeper hub?
  3. If there are any specific logs or troubleshooting steps we should follow to resolve this issue?

We appreciate your assistance in helping us configure the OT module properly.

Regarding your question, port 59525 is mainly used if you are using OT with a network discovery hub when the links to Cloud.

But if you want to use it with an on-premise installation directly, the connection is normally made over port 9524.
The steps for this are in the KB article below:
Link OT Hub with Lansweeper On-premises - Lansweeper

Hello FrankSc

Thank you for your previous response regarding the correct port (9524) to link the OT module to our on-premises Lansweeper installation (v. 12.2.0.4). We have updated the configuration to use port 9524, and the installer now accepts the new port.

However, during the installation of the OT Sensor, we are asked to provide a Remote Hub Code, which should be generated from our Lansweeper console under Settings > Data Transfer. Unfortunately, we cannot find this option in our on-premises console.

Additionally, while reviewing this article: Link OT Hub with Lansweeper On-premises, it mentions accessing the hub via the web interface using port 9524. However, when we attempt to connect to the hub via http://[Hub_IP]:9524, the page does not load, and the screen remains blank.

Could you please clarify the following?

  1. Is the Remote Hub Code functionality available for on-premises Lansweeper v. 12.2.0.4 installations?
  2. If this functionality is not available in our version, what alternative steps can we take to link the OT Sensor to our on-premises Lansweeper installation?
  3. Why might the web interface for the hub on port 9524 not load properly? Are there additional configurations required to access this interface?

We appreciate your assistance in resolving these issues so we can proceed with the OT module setup.

Thank you.
