Hi!

I installed LanSweeper on my Windows XP PC and now I'm trying to move it to another PC (server) with Windows Server 2003.
I followed the steps on thread http://www.lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst553_Moving-Lansweeper-to-a-new-Server.aspx
But when I try to use LanSweeper it shows the following error:
"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "Lansweeper32" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'lssqluser32'. "

Any idea or guidance would be appreciated

Thanks in advance!!

Lansweeper,

First of all, thank you for your reply.

I tried your suggestion but it returned the following error:
"User, group, or role 'lssqluser32' already exists in the current database. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15023)"

As I can see there are two "lssqluser32", one of them in the Database/Lansweeper32 section and the other in the Security section.

Let me tell you what I already have done:

- Install MSSQL 2005 Express on the Windows Server 2003 server.
- Install LanSweeper32 on the same server.
- Stop LanSweeper service.
- Backup LanSweeper32 database from the workstation.
- Restore LanSweeper32 database on the server (with overwrite option enabled).
- Start LanSweeper service.

I've also tried deleting LanSweeper32 database before restoring, but with no success.

Let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks again for your help !!

Best would be to recreate this user on the new sql server, use the same password as in your config file and make sure that the lssqluser32 is owner of the new database.
