In Lansweeper Sites, this can be done using the asset deduplication option.

In Lansweeper On Prem, you can ensure that assets are scanned correctly. All assets have unique identifiers. Lansweeper will first check if this unique identifier already exists when saving the scanned information in the database. If the asset does exist, then the assets will be merged. If the asset does not exist, a new asset will be created.

  • The unique key of a Windows computer is: <NetBIOS domain or workgroup name>\<NetBIOS computer name>\1
  • The unique key of most other non-Windows assets is: <MAC address> (if found) or <IP address>\1 (if a MAC address is not found)
