Hi Support/Friends
Though I am new but pretty impressed by this software
I have already asked few questions in this forum before as I was thinking to buy this software and operate in consulting mode where I have to visit different clients and do a sort of audit (inventory) .
My concern is what happen when I install this on my laptop and visit client's place and hook up my laptop with their network and run the scan w.r.t to the prevailing IP range. bear in mind that:
1-My laptop is not the member of their domain
2-I do not have their admin account.
3-On top of that PCs might have windows firewall ON ,
in view of these 3 points , do you think lansweeper would be able to successfully scan machines?
please reply as this is very important.
thanks in advance

thanks for your reply
Credentials and admin account will be sorted it out easily.
but what about if windows firewall is ON on all machines ? would Lansweeper scan all PCs in this situation?
thanks
2 & 3 are problems, you need to ask them for the proper credentials or it won't work

You would need to create a group policy for this:
http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/firewall.aspx
or optionally a startup script that disables the firewall

1) isn't a problem, you can use alternate credentials.
2 & 3 are problems, you need to ask them for the proper credentials or it won't work (with Lansweeper and also with all other inventory programs)
