I am still experiencing problems with certain desktop computers which can not get scanned due to RPC Server unavailable (exception from result HRESULT: 0x800706A) and WMI access denied (Exception form HRESULT: 0x80070005).
Can you please assist?

I have used the latest version of Windows Group policy template to enable all the exceptions through Windows firewall and make sure all the services are started.

To do this you need a Windows Vista Machine and Install the Windows Admin Tool Pack for Vista. Using Group policy management console, create a group policy call it Lansweeper auditing or amend an existing policy file.

This is always a good practice but some RPC errors are caused by incorrect DNS entries.

Next update (version 3.5.1) will scan computer is this order (until one works)
1) fqdn found in active directory
2) computername
3) IP address

If they all fail : post scan on port 135 (dcom) to check if the machine is firewalled

This will make it easier to check what is causing the problem.
