Applies to
When to Configure a Proxy
Only configure proxy settings if your Lansweeper server connects to the internet through a proxy server. If your environment does not use a proxy, leave the proxy configuration fields empty.
An incorrect or unavailable proxy configuration can prevent Lansweeper from accessing online services such as updates, integrations, or cloud-based features.
Prerequisites
- Administrative access to the Lansweeper web console
- Proxy server address and port
- Proxy authentication credentials (if required)
Configuration Steps
- Open the Lansweeper web console.
- Navigate to Configuration > Server Options.
- Locate the Proxy Server section.
- Enter the required proxy details:
- Proxy server address
- Port
- Timeout in seconds
- Username, password, and domain (if your proxy requires authentication)
- Click Save to apply the settings.
Important Notes
- Ensure the proxy server is reachable and operational before saving the configuration.
- Do not configure proxy settings if your Lansweeper server has direct internet access.
- Changes take effect immediately after saving.
Troubleshooting
If Lansweeper cannot connect to the internet after configuring a proxy:
- Verify the proxy address and port are correct.
- Confirm authentication credentials are valid.
- Check that the proxy allows outbound traffic from the Lansweeper server.
- Temporarily remove the proxy configuration to verify whether the proxy is the cause of the issue.
