New to Lansweeper. We have run the ISclient on all of our PCs. Some are recognized by LANSWEEPER and some are not. We researched the RPC error on your customer forum and followed the firewall instructions there. Tried to re scan the PC and still have the same problem. What are we doing wrong?

Could you post the exact screenshot of the error.
It could also be a naming resolution problem.

For example:
Computer.domain.local pointing to the wrong IP address in dns.

I was hoping that the new laptops I ordered would solve some of the issues, but no luck. Brand new, XP SP3, all default settings(except GPOs outlined in LanSweeper guides and the company ones), logged on to the new laptops with the user that was able to be detected on my laptop, and nothing. They are listed but having the usual RPC and port 135 error. I set an exception in the GPO to allow port 135 to receive all info from server; no go. With the firewall turned completey off on the client, no go either. I just noticed that my windows 2000 box just appeared and is being scanned normally. I have a few other ones here that are scanning normally so I don't think it is a firewall issue on the server or AV since everyone has the same AV. Running the detection tool locally is still successful. I'm running out of ideas.

Sorry, but I have no clue. I'm just a simple back woods client support tech.

To quote Facebook quizzes: that was "scarily accurate!". I logged in as another user on my laptop and ran the sync locally; the server picked it up right away(nice response time). I logged back in as myself and the server did not detect me. I could understand this on my machine as I gets pretty abused as my first round test machine, but for the other three it's a little concerning for them to be corrupted, especially when one of them is a desktop connected to the office scanner and that's all it does. Is there any way I can compare the profiles?

Try logging into your PC with another account and see if it can scan. Maybe your profile is corrupt. I had to rebuild a few profiles myself with bad WMI or RPC problems.

Same issue here. Com is enabled and the firewall is off on my laptop and it is not detected, with the rpc error. A desktop that has the firewall enabled is being detected. I have tried adding in the exclusions in the GPO and no changes. I ran the WMI repair and rebooted and still no detection. I had the repair tool export all echos to a text file and got some errors:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem>mofcomp.exe /RegServer
Microsoft (R) 32-bit MOF Compiler Version 5.1.2600.5512
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corp. 1997-2001. All rights reserved.
File '/RegServer' not found!

I also got this error on every one of the Outlook_whatever.mof

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem>MOFCOMP Outlook_01c694a6fe6208ee.mof
Microsoft (R) 32-bit MOF Compiler Version 5.1.2600.5512

I'm thinking the errors will point me in the right direction, but I'm not sure what they mean. Other issues I ran into were when going to the internal lansweeper site I had to specify the port since port 80 was already taken by SharePoint(thanks to a previous post on this one) and I had made a custom user(who is a member of my local admin)for scanning, not populate out right away to the other machines.

See the articles in our knowledgebase.
Make sure dcom is enabled.
Make sure the firewall isn't active.

Getting the following with the connection test on all PCs that have a problem

Remote WMI test
-----------------------------------------------
\root\cimv2 Remote WMI access test FAILED
The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

Remote Registry test using WMI
-----------------------------------------------
\root\default Remote WMI access test FAILED
The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

What should I try to do to resolve this error? Thanks

Please try the connectiontester from the server to the client
