No Usersingroups can be scanned on all computers with French version (not MUI) of Windows XP with SP2 and SP3. We have many subsidiary over the world with OS in different languages but only FR XP has this problem.

This issue was already in 3.x and now in 4.0 beta as well.

Don't know if this might help but you can try a: "sfc /scannow"

It's possible that some third party software replaced the needed dll, in this case rebuilding the wmi won't fix the problem.

Now yes I did - no luck. Besides "Usersingroups" WMI is working just fine.
Most of computers have SP3 but with SP2 is the same issue. All (or almost all) patches installed as well, currently I haven't any "clean" machine to test it without installed patches.

No, very different installatons. Btw, 3 of this 20 computers are new Dell notebooks and having this problem immediately after joining to domain and 1st scan with LS. I can't believe in corrupt WMI, not in this case.

Did you try repairing wmi on one of the machines?

Just tested on a fresh installed french XP SP2 (no additional patches) without any problem.

We have around 20 machines with XP FR and _all_ of them have the same issue (old, new, notebooks, workstations - whatever). Only "Usersingroups" cannot be checked, other checks are ok.

There should be another reason for it. What do you think?

It's clearly a wmi issue on these machines. In a default windows installation (even french) it works.
Are these machines cloned from the same master image?

looks like WMI is corrupt on this machine.

Can you try repairing it with (6) http://www.lansweeper.com/kb/accessdenied.aspx

Here we are:

Patientez pendant l'installation de WMIC.
Analyse du fichier MOF : C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Cli.mof (Erreur de phase - 3)
Le compilateur a renvoyé l'erreur 0x80041001

C:\Documents and Settings\stp>wmic path win32_Group
Please wait while WMIC compiles updated MOF files.
