We recently started using the Lansweeper product and we cannot get it to detect anything with our VMware ESXi hosts. They only come up in IP scanning and are displayed as "Webserver". What information should it be able to grab about these hosts? We would like it to detail as much as possible.

You need to enable SSH on the vmware machines and provide the SSH login/password in IP range scanning.

Will it only pull information like other UNIX/LINUX distros or will it pull VMware specific data?
