Engaged Sweeper II

Starting to rely on Risk Insights and Lifecycle EOS to drive remediation in vuln management. Recently a couple of our ESXi 6.7 hosts fell off the lifecycle and vulnerability lists. Rescanned, and re ran reports , even deleted devices and rescanned etc for days and they will not show up in lifecycle of on the same vuln lists as other esxi 6.7 hosts..

Nothing from support yet. Honestly, I spend more hours of my day / week kicking around on Lansweeper than anything else. It is hard to implement a vulnerability management program when half the reports are wrong and full of false positives due to the tool. No one trusts the results anymore. I have been using Lansweeper for over 20 years and pay premium for Professional version. The cloud addon for the product while needed, has been a rocky start. Really thought since all the inventory was already in the tool, Vuln managment made sense in this tool, starting to question if it will ever be usuable.

Hi, it's going to be a risky idea to implement a vulnerability management program with the current maturity or Lansweeper Risk Insights.  The idea is good as you have a full view of your asset attack surface but the depth and breadth of the vulnerability findings is still lacking lots of details.   Due to budget purposes, it's quite expensive to cover all company assets using a full featured vulnerability management tool so we recomend Lansweeper risk insights to track Windows workstations vulnerabilities.  You will find that Lansweeper only checks if a patch is registered as installed and sometimes, the patch is not fully installed because there is no process to check that all the patch components are in place.  Still too many false positives and limited reporting capabilities.

Hope this information helps and that Lansweeper Cloud gets to a maturity level that is worth the higher prices.

As always, ymmv.
