While we have a number of DHCP served XP clients on our domain, we also have a few fixed IP Users.
There are times when Lansweeper "sees" these machines and then other times fail to see them.
Allways the RPC Server error.
I ran a test on one of these fixed IP address machines after waiting all day to see if it would scan with its fixed IP address. No luck. So I temporarily set this machine to a DHCP served address and forced a scan.
It worked just fine and update the last seen time.
Why does Lansweeper seem to have difficulty with fixed IP addresses?

My guess would be that the fixed computers are incorrect in dns and the DHCP is updating the DNS server.
Check your dns servers to see if the FQDN could be resolved to the correct IP.
