Engaged Sweeper

Hello... I'm a prospective customer interested in utilizing Lansweeper for IT Asset Management & Inventory.  I expect Lansweeper is fully capable of discovering network-connected assets as well as software installed on those devices.  I'm also interested in keeping an Inventory of NON-networked assets such as:

air-gapped equipment, new surplus on the shelf, decommissioned devices, USB thumbdrives, special cables, etc...

other tangible IT department assets such as power supplies, diagnostic testers & tools...

and intangible IT assets such as leased domain names, cloud storage, etc.

I may have 100-200 of these non-network-connected assets, whereas I have about 750 network-connected devices according to my vulnerability management solution.  It would be EXTREMELY USEFUL to have all 1000 of my assets recorded within the same Asset Mgt Platform.

Does Lansweeper include the ability to create custom asset types and either manually input &/or import into its IT Asset database?  If not, is there an economical sister-product that would integrate w/Lansweeper in order to combine all of my IT Assets into one coordinated platform with which to view, monitor and or input changes, and generate occasional reports?  If for whatever reason I have a 'cinder block' that serves some particular purpose within my IT environment, I want it's existence and it's attributes to be recorded with the rest of my IT assets.

Hey jsmalone

Lansweeper is able to import non-networked assets manually or via a CSV file.

https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/importing-assets/

Custom Asset types can indeed be added and relationships can be set (either asset->asset or asset>user)

https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/creating-asset-types/

https://www.lansweeper.com/knowledgebase/linking-assets-to-other-assets-or-users/

You can even attach documents to assets, like Purchase Orders or Documentation.

The ability to have all your assets in a single pane of glass for you to view and manage resonates really well with us and this idea is at the very heart of our ethos.
