If the Cisco APs are joined to a WLC, you can only poll the WLC for SNMP queries regarding the APs. The APs are set to forward SNMP to the WLC per Cisco. I'll have to dig through the documentation again, but the documentation does exist from Cisco.

Below are two community discussions stating that you must poll the WLC and not the APs.

I have config SNMP community and trap reciver if I understand correctly that's no SNMP on Access Point. WLC that owner SNMP. Look like WLC cann't reply result of specific OID.

What model WLC are you using? The SNMPWalk is certainly a good starting point. You can attempt to dig through the MIBs provided by Ciscos Website and attempt to identify what you're needing from that. I personally was overwhelmed by the information available but it can be learned with time and effort.

AireOS 3504 WLC - This Cisco link has some OIDs listed that may be useful.

Paessler SNMP Tester - Here is a useful SNMP Tool you can leverage if Lansweeper Device Tester is not your preference.

Cisco Forum - Here is a Community Post that contains 2 MIBs that may prove useful for you.

Cisco MIB Navigator - Here is the MIB Navigator for Cisco that you should use to investigate and test further.

Hi, My WLC is CT2504 and CAP3602. Maybe CAP3602 is not support for snmp, I have investigate that in navigator.

I have try many custom by OID on WLC but it didn't work. Look like result is invalid value. I have try OID Number of Connected Clients: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.618.1.8.12.0 that's work but bsn apserial number: 1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.2.1.1.17 is null value. Am I use OID to scan Serial Number of APs on AP or WLC?

Thank you for reply. Yes, Already read Scan extra SNMP data but I have no idea which OID can get the result that I need.

Did you try SNMP_WALK in MIB Browser?
