Hello All,

I believe there are users in my organisation that are deleting assets. I'm not sure on the reason, or what they stand to gain from it, but I'm trying to find as much information from Lansweeper on that potential action as possible.

  • Is there a report which will identify any assets that have been deleted and who did the action?
  • Is there a way of finding the serial number or MAC address after the asset has been deleted
  • If there isn't a way in the lansweeper front end, is there something in the SQL database that could help?

Any help would be greatly apprciated.

Kind regards,

Liam O'Doherty

Hi Liam

I didn't know the answer to this; so have been doing a bit of Googling and think I might have a bit of an answer.

First up - once a device is deleted; it is gone - you'll need backups to bring it back from the dead:-

But that post references a new table, available since version 6 which monitors the change in devices, which should be able to show you *who* is doing this:-

Hope that helps!

Hi Mat,

That answers my questions, and the 2nd link goes beyond what I needed.

I think it has possibly helped my identify all of the assets that I needed.

Many thanks!
