Engaged Sweeper
Our company has been using Lansweeper for approximately 6 months now, and while we find (on a daily basis) different aspects of the Lansweeper features to be extremely helpful, there are some aspects that we find near useless (which is possible to a lack of understanding of the sections).

We have several different types of licenses:
Single Computer, Single User, Volume License

However, we recently changed the way Lansweeper views one of our software: Beyond Compare (Scooter Software).
Originally, Beyond Compare was setup as a "Single Computer" license. While this pulled the correct number of COMPUTER'S (with multiple computers having the SAME user) with Beyond Compare installed, we realized that Beyond Compare is not a Computer License, but instead is a User License.

We went into the License Compliance section and changed the license type from 'Single Computer' to 'Single User' and no changes were made, even after rescanning all of the Users and Assets within Lansweeper. We cannot get the License compliance to remove duplicate users from the License Compliance section for 'Beyond Compare.' It still only populates ALL the PC's with Beyond Compare installed (including the multiple computers having the same user).

What needs to be done to get Lansweeper to recognize the 'Single User' license and repopulate that data?

The license compliance modules don't take the license type of your license items into account. The only thing they do is:
  • Look at the number of OS/software licenses you've indicated you've purchased, in the Orders tab of the license item.
  • Look at the number of OS/software installations in your network.
  • Compare the two to see how many licenses are missing or in excess.

This procedure cannot be customized. License compliance will be expanded in one of our future updates, but we do not have a release date for this feature. Development is busy getting the help desk ready for our beta testers, so any other features have low priority for now.
