Lansweeper scans USB devices in relation to the Windows computers they are connected to, but it does not currently generate separate assets for these USB devices. At this time, the only computer components that Lansweeper automatically creates assets for are monitors.
If your goal is to have assets for USB devices so you can manually link them to users, assets, or locations, you will need to either manually create or import these assets. To facilitate this, you can set up a custom asset type for USB devices.
For step-by-step instructions on creating asset types, importing assets, and linking assets to users, please refer to the knowledge base articles below:
To view a list of all connected USB devices, open your Lansweeper web console and navigate to the Reports tab. There, you can access the built-in report "Windows: USB connected devices" for a complete overview.
