Any progress on Chromebook "agent"

Has there been any further talk of figuring out how to get chromebooks to report to LS? Even talks in meetings or something.

Managing 1700 manually is doable, but not ideal.

I think their main issue could be that apps cannot get the serial number unless in dev mode I am pretty sure. I would be very nice to figure something out.
