Please tell me this works without lansweeper cloud.  I hate your cloud service and only want to use on-prem.  Can I get an "identity code" without cloud?  Please don't abandon your on-prem product!

Yes, this integration is only for Lansweeper customers running in Hybrid mode (with Lansweeper cloud service on). 
We are sorry to hear to date the  features we have released in the cloud are not compelling enough for you to sync, but we will continue to try!

Ignoring your existing customers and forcing cloud down their throats is stupid.  Your on-prem product is great, but I will always be ready to switch to a new product that focuses on their customer more than themselves.  You do still have the best on-prem product at moment that I know of, but I hope someone creates a similar product and takes your customers annoyed with your cloud push and quadrupling price.

Thanks for sharing your concerns. I want to assure you that we’re absolutely not turning our backs on on-prem customers. In fact, we are investing most of our development effort into strengthening Discovery—our core platform—for both on-prem and cloud users. That remains a top priority.
